PDFUp ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.
Your Files
Most PDFUp tools process your files entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your documents are never uploaded to our servers for these tools. For the small number of tools that require server-side processing, uploaded files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 1 hour, and are never viewed by anyone on our team.
Account Information
If you create an account, we store your name (optional), email address, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text). We use this information only to let you log in and manage your account — we do not sell or share it with third parties.
Security & Sign-In Logs
When you sign up or log in, we log the event along with your IP address, approximate country (derived from your IP, never a precise location), and browser/device information. This is used only for account security, fraud prevention, and understanding where our users are — it is visible only to our team and is never sold or shared with advertisers.
Cookies
If you create an account and log in, we set one essential cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is required for the login feature to work and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Analytics & Advertising
PDFUp does not use third-party advertising cookies or ad-tracking networks. We do not currently run third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) — the only usage information we collect is the security sign-in log described above.
Third-Party Services
Some tools load open-source libraries from third-party content delivery networks (CDNs) to function in your browser. These requests fetch code only — your file contents are not sent to these services.
